I've done many iphones and ipod touches with blackra1n, best to check your model under settings>general>about and if it is an MC model then be aware any time the device is reset or turned off and back on, you will need to connect it to a computer and jailbreak it again, as it will be sitting there on the connect to itunes screen till you do. If you have upgraded to firmware 3.13 then you're boned at present.
thanks for the replies guys. I havent upgraded to 3.13 yet, and dont plan to. I tried running blackra1n and it didnt do shit, so I tried some other long winded method that involved taking your ipod back to factory settings and loading up someones software upgrade through itunes. Step by step instructions on youtube, I did it a couple of times and you're right, as soon as the ipod is turned off, I basically had to run the entire process (about 20 minutes) again. Pain in the sphinct. Even after doing that, the downloaded apps I had didnt work anyway, so I though fuck it, reset back to factories and just paid for the couple of apps I wanted. Pretty much have given up at this stage.
ipod/iphones are a real love/hate thing for me. They are awesome when they are loaded up with music and games and shit and work great, but fuck me they are a pain in the arse to just add an album or 2 when you get new music... especially when you have to resync 4000+ songs just to add 1 more.... and not being able to plug it in to a friends computer or whatever sucks too.
