The Devil Rides Out 'Heart & The Crown' tour - NSW shows
« on: April 29, 2010, 12:03:55 AM »
Combining the big groove heaviness of stoner rock with the lowbrow swagger of garage blues, Western Australia's THE DEVIL RIDES OUT have established themselves as "Perth's premier exponents of balls'n'all rock'n'roll grit'n'grime" (Drum) with their trinity of EPs; Volume I, II and III. On the back of the Volumes, the band have supported the likes of Nick (QOTSA/Kyuss) Oliveri's MONDO GENERATOR (USA), MONSTER MAGNET (USA) and CLUTCH (USA). In May 2009 they won the WAMi (West Australian Music Industry) Award for 'Best Hard Rock Artist' and have been nominated again for this year's upcoming ceremony.

The band re-entered the studio in December 2009 to lay down their debut album with Alan Smith at Bergerk Studios. Internationally focused Australian label Impedance Records - home to Nick Oliveri, Mondo Generator, Priestess and The Sword amongst others - liked what they heard emanating from the studio and promptly signed them. The resulting album 'The Heart & The Crown' charts the sound of a band coming of age, displaying both a musical breadth and lyrical depth previously only hinted at on the Volume EPs, whilst still retaining the bands trademark venom, grit and pitch black sense of humour.

The Devil is now set to take their high-octane show on the road in June 2010...

VIC DATES
Wednesday June 23rd - Harp Hotel, Wollongong NSW - with Immolate
Thursday June 24th - The Sando, Sydney NSW - with Buzzard, Mother Mars + Immolate
Friday June 25th - The Tatts, Lismore NSW - with Ox (ex-Fort) + The Smokestack Orchestra

The Devil Rides Out 'The Heart & The Crown' is released in Australia on June 4th, 2010 on Impedance Records via Stomp Distribution.

"With fervourish post-Kyuss-on-coke cool, The Devil Rides Out have it all. Sound, style and silhouette blend with bad-ass pomp and balls-out flair to match...If you get to a Devil gig and grab an EP, don?t be surprised if you are compelled to drive at fast speeds with hot women. It?s just that kinda thing." - XPRESS MAGAZINE

"Soulful and blues-colored rock ?n' roll that would fit quite nicely as a soundtrack to a biker movie with hairy reprobates swigging bourbon and riding choppers in between sessions of vandalism. Imagine a band that is the sum of ZZ Top, AC/DC, Led Zep, Miller High Life, sunshine, sideburns, and convertibles and you will come pretty close to physically defining The Devil Rides Out." - STONERROCK.COM

"Very much like a cross between Queens Of The Stone Age and Eagles of Death Metal... they generate heavy stoner rock with liberal lashings of garage blues, delivered with a ferocious grit."- INPRESS MAGAZINE

"The Devil Rides Out sure knows how to rock... they dole out enormously catchy doses of rollicking groove-laden sludge that wouldn't be out of place on an album by Corrosion of Conformity" - PYROMUSIC.NET
