softmod Nintendo Wii
« on: June 04, 2010, 08:22:35 PM »
anyone done this? I want to softmod my wii so I can "backup my games" onto either a DVD or hard drive/USB drive. I have read heaps of tutorials on the net, but they all differ quite alot. Some say you need a genuine copy of Zelda : Twilight Princess game to do it, as well as a formatted SD card, others say you dont need Zelda. I dont have wifi internet on my wii either, and that seems to be an issue with most of the tutorials I found. I need help dammit!

Perhaps if you guys purchased a console aimed at males and/or people over 11, I could have helped you.
My hands are choking, my knife is broken.
An orgasm is what I need.
Your blood is spilling, the sight is thrilling.
To cum I need to see you bleed.

follow this link bro. http://wiiguide.byethost2.com/

instructions there, and also the download link at the top is the package you need. All you need is an SD card.

Also download some games on torrents and burn them using IMGburn (free downloadable program). The only thing I cant figure out is how to rip a game disc onto your computer, but with that package you download and install, you can dump the entire game straight onto a USB thumb drive. I have an 8GB thumb drive and managed to fit 5 games on it. Let me know how you go. If anyone can figure out the program to use to rip the games, let me know. I heard you need a specific type of LG DVD drive. Theres only 3 models that work, but thats only hearsay.

I modded my wii with the drive key, a solderless pass through chip that goes on the ribbon cable from the unit to the drive, took 1 day to get it express from this site, and about <30 mins to install and works a charm.

CHIP,   http://mods-hq.com.au/drive-key-wii-mod-p-190.html   specs are on the page.

TOOLS,  you need a small phillips head and a tri wing to open it up, i managed to get it open with a small flathead.                                              http://mods-hq.com.au/wii-screwdriver-kit-%C2%96-triwing-philips-p-302.html

INSTALLATION
OPEN CASING,   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gza0eaL6DAQ
CHIP INSTALLATION,   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boMA2gCzR0M

GAMES,    http://thepiratebay.org/top/405   or any other torrent site, Burned with ImgBurn on Verbatim DVD+R

you do need the lg drive to read/rip the games also either on of these
 LG-8164b
 LG-8163b
 LG-8162b
 LG-8161b
apparently there are a few other ones that work like certain pioneer drives and HP drives.

Not sure if soft modding was a better option but thats what i did,  theres heaps of other killer chips on the mods-hq site that do different things.
This voids the the warranty but who cares, fuck paying $100 a game when you dont have to pay fuck all!!
