DIRT CHEAP CDS SELLING BOOTLEG T-SHIRTS
« on: June 21, 2010, 11:16:29 PM »
Anyone seen the totally crap bootleg shirts that Dirt Cheap CDs are selling fo? They have them online also.

They look horrible - really cheap knockoffs.  Makes you wonder why they stoop so low for a dollar ,why don't they just start burning up Cds as well?

Just shows you what happens when people focus on the purely on the bottom line but forget about the process.

I am an online retailer, I deal with all the official merchandise companies so I know what licenses are official etc - I keep a keen eye on it and i know how important it is to bands.

I'm also in contact with many bands etc. For example was recently in contact with Alex webster from Cannibal corpse, Dimmu borgir, Manowar etc - I can tell you for a fact these are not official.

Plus they are $10 each cmon. Thats $4 to the Thailand manufacturer. They don't print them here because no one would do it.

Think of it this way someone downloads a cd yea ok the artist doen't get paid.

Someone rips off a shirt - artist does'nt get paid PLUS these assholes make a profit as well. It would be like you selling your downloaded burnt CDs and making money on top of unauthorized duplication.

Shows you some people don't give a shit apart from making money anyway they can even if the process is wrong. Ripping off bands and customers with cheap junk.

Who is the CEO of Dirt Cheap CDs? making these misguded decisions - there are many who want want to kick his ass and also many bands would like too as well...

Just because you can does not mean its right - a prime example of lack of true leadership!

I didn't know they sold any shirts there. It's been a while since I've been into their shops though. While I did like being able to buy a few metal albums for $10, they were almost always cheap re-issues, and I was never certain just how 'official' they were. The Iron Maiden re-issues were the real deal though, which was nice, but other than that...

I've noticed there seems to be a breed of cheap bogans in Armadale with a strong demand for bootleg AC\DC shirts. The logo looks awful. I can call it a fake from 20 metres.
