HEAVY METAL?S ?BIG FOUR? METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH, ANTHRAX COMMEMORATE THEIR HISTORIC CONCERTS TOGETHER ON JUNE 22nd AT THE SONISPHERE FESTIVAL CONCERT TO BE BEAMED VIA SATELLITE FROM SOFIA, BULGARIA TO MOVIE THEATERS AROUND THE WORLD SCREENING IN AUSTRALIAN CINEMAS.

CAPTURED LIVE ON JULY 9 & 10 @ CINEMA PARADISO at 9.15pm

In December 2009, the bands announced that they would be joining forces to take part in the traveling Sonisphere Festival for only 7 shows across Europe. Now, this one-time only event from the Sofia show makes it possible for fans far and wide to participate in what otherwise is a very limited run of dates. The highdefinition concert presentation will memorialize the event and the impact will be amplified globally with the cinema screenings, making the dreams of fans around the world over become a reality.

Lars Ulrich of Metallica says of this historic announcement, "Who would have thought that more than 25 years after its inception, thrash metal's Big Four would not only still be around, be more popular than ever, playing shows together at stadiums all over Europe, and on top of that, coming to a movie theater near you in High Definition (for better or worse??!!). Bring it on!"

I have heard some people say this is a stupid idea but I think it's a great idea, it's no different to watching a dvd at home only it's on a bigger screen

There was drinks there but was sold out half way through the show.
On a side note, if people are going to be singing and stomping to the music, could they at least 1. Know the fucking lyrics and 2. Actually keep in time with the music? I don't mind the noise but Jesus fucking H Christ some people have atrocious timing.

it was pure fucking mayhem.

The front three rows of seats were destroyed. People smoking weed and cigs in the cinema. Drinking. Moshing and Milling. Ripping up seats and throwing em to the front. The police came.

It was fucking nuts retarded. The front section where I was became a moshpit of dudes diving & stacks on. Fucking retard next to me decided to rip 2 of the chairs out & throw them to the front almost hitting a pregnant chick ffs, it took physical intervention to get him to settle the fuck down. He was the sole reason the show got temp stopped & the police came in. Also the sound was turned down via the police not the venue. Once the cops left the sound was turned back up.
Was an interresting night but not one that will ever happen there again. Felt sorry for the 1 guy wirkin there who had to try keep it under control. Hope he still has a job after all the carnage. They ended up with about 5 rows of trashed seats. I went in after when the cinema was empty & it looked like a post riot scene :\

Agreed.

People's behavior was fucking uncalled for. When I left early for the 1am train, I wished the guy luck for the clean up.

On the bright side, the concert was good, but on the bad note the sound was shit house.

DVD should be tits though!

See this is why most people dont take Metal or Metalheads seriously or credibly(sp?).
The meatheads responsible should be man enough to front up and pay for the replacement of the seats.

Theyve done the Iron Maiden thing, now this, so it probably will continue, but now whoever hosts these things will ban alcohol, spoiling it for 99% of the patrons doing the right thing.
I thought it was awesome to allow drinks to be taken into the cinema, I thought you could only drink in the foyer area.

I would hazzard that it wasn't any of the regular metalheads, but more the local Metallica fans. Same things happens at a lot of big international gigs, there will be people who don't know how to behave themselves. Difference being there were chairs for them to trash this time, instead of just each other in the mosh pit.
