MAGIC - 'A Tribute To Ronnie James Dio' the first tribute album released since the metal legends passing is now available for download.

MANOWAR and Magic Circle Entertainment have decided to honor one of metal's greatest legends with "Magic - A Tribute to Ronnie James Dio", a new CD featuring Magic Circle Music artists and friends performing some of Dio's most inspired work.

Dio's son Dan Padavona has confirmed that Joey Demaio who is releasing this through his magic circle music label intends be directing profits to charity. Cover artwork was commissioned by famous fantasy artist & the main who painted the original Rainbow cover Ken Kelly.

TRIVIA: : Joey DeMaio who has put this album together worked for Black Sabbath on the Heaven & Hell tour. Its was Dio himself who introduced him to Ross The Boss and encouraged him to start his own band.

Good? Bad? cash in? Waste of time, worthy tribute? There has been some controversy surrounding this release what do you think?

if its going to charity it isnt a cash in. I say its a worthy tribute, but of course I would have to listen to it first. AWESOME cover art though. Perfect

Yeah I heard about the Jorn Dio tribute - does anyone know if profits for that will be going to the 'stand up and shout fund'?

Judging from this it statement it seems the Magic Circle tribute seems legit:
Padavona writes, "Good afternoon, everyone. My name is Dan Padavona. I am Ronnie James Dio's son.

"Joey DeMaio [MANOWAR bassist] contacted me a few weeks ago to discuss his tribute CD to my father. Joey sought my advice for where I felt the proceeds from his project should be sent. My first two choices were M.D. Anderson, which nearly saved my father against all odds, and Dana Farber's The Jimmy Fund, to which I am a long-term donor. Today [Monday, June 21] I received CC'd copies of email correspondences between these two charities, and Joey's company [Magic Circle Music]. He has obtained the paperwork for donating to both causes as I requested, and I have no doubt that he will follow through with his promise.

"I will leave it to Joey to release any specific information he feels comfortable in releasing.
