What an awesome day!!! Cheers to soundworks and all the bands for making it happen, and massive cheers to all those who rolled in early and checked out our set especially those who copped flying Cd's in the head, got spear tackled and dragged up the front by the head and were such good sports about it!

Hey guys...a big thanks to anyone who played or attended the first Bastard Fest last Saturday....

It was a great day...it was treated as a massive party and that's what we wanted when we came up with the idea.....it's a massive metal party..plain and simple..

The mood and the vibe was incredible....it took me back to when i first started going to gigs around 1990 and these similar events ran at the old Grovsner Backroom(you remember D Vat!)...when people were totally enthused about the entire event...and that was evident by the people that rocked up from doors...

You have our word, there will be a Bastard Fest in 2011...the only difference is that it will be bigger and better....and that includes the BBQ!!

Awesome gig!  Although I missed half the bands I wanted to see and the prize ticket calling (WHO WON?!), it was still cool to see a "festival" atmosphere back on the scene.

And man, the Civic fucking rocks!  The bouncers were all pretty cool (especially towards the end when they stopped giving a fuck about people smoking out the front), and the beer gardens aplenty.  Wicked place for a two stage fest!

The winner was a bloke called Anthony Santoro...does anyone know him...????

I think Dyson may have already contacted him as he was given the winning raffle ticket straight after the draw......BUT....Dyson is currently sunning his cheesy arse and fondling ladymen in Phuket until Friday.....and the entire prize pack is at Dysons abode...

Either way...we'll track Mr Santoro down and make sure he gets whats his....

I had visions of drinking in moderation and making sure I had something on every band. But I had 10 beers and woke up with notes like "fgenerakky crap. Nothin nre". Apologies to those I missed. Blame Bastardfest.

I think the Civic security were to be commended, a lot of venues wouldnt allow many people to walk from room to room with drinks in hand nowadays

Not that they could really stop that many drinkers  :P
