United Western Front...

Well said jez, this Perth metal scene is fucking awesome, way too many good bands and some fucking great bands... I dont know why we couldnt stand on a world stage with the best of 'em and make ourselves heard... we just need to support the scene and weed out the doubters and sceptics within the scene, or the ones who bash it all and do nothing to change it...

Proud to be in the Perth Metal Scene  :headbang:

all i know is, there seems like there would be a hell of alot more metal out there if there were more FUCKING DRUMMERS!!![/

Fuck, I allways thought it was harder to find a good vocalist than it is to find a good drummer :hmm:

this can also be a hassle.

where the fuck have all the drummers gone? are there none??? or do they just not play music, i mean metal??

The issue is drumming takes skill and we live in Perth.
My hands are choking, my knife is broken.
An orgasm is what I need.
Your blood is spilling, the sight is thrilling.
To cum I need to see you bleed.

Skill? pfffft, just surround yourself with toms n cymbals and swing wildlly (works for me), I supose the problem might be that living in the suburbs, and the problems of the noise that drums make, would make it more difficult to practice all the time (or play at all). would just be easier to learn guitar and not piss off the neighbours. im lucky in that i live on 30 achers in the middle of fuckin no where, can play at whatever stupid hour i want. (hmmmm, so why do i still suck at drums :( )

Tons of great drummers around!

What I love about Perth metal bands is that the crowd is almost never aggro, in fact quite the opposite since we all pretty much know eachother . I also love the fact that scene-trendy-posers don't want to go to metal gigs because, ironically, they think its going to be full of people starting fights.

Catalyst, a brilliant piece of sophistry there but astoundingly true. I think there is nothing special or unique about Perth metal as such (it is influenced by the international scene) but that it is a just as anywhere else made up the fans who find whatever solace they can in the music and by but large it is the music itself, the musicianship, the riffs, pounding drums and range of vocal stylings...as you say its not the need to the need to be rebellious which drives the metal machine...

Us drummers are procrastinating/waiting for the 6 month waiting period for our log book to go through.

Also perth's missing Doom and needs more thrash... more I say.
