resonating sound in guitar ( problem )
« on: July 23, 2010, 08:50:43 AM »
Hi all, I bought an elec guitar about 2 years ago and for the past 8 mths or so it has been making a hum sound that resonates through the guitar when certian strings are played...I have narrowed it down to the bottom E, A and G string.after picking any of these strings the sound tends to last for 3-10 seconds and if i play a chord its even more distinctive again and because my pickups amplify the sound. u can here it in a mix which gives me the shits because when i change key i still get a tiny bit of tone coming through of those notes/strings that ive played ...I have checked the tension springs for the floyd rose bridge and every thing seems to be in order, however i THINK it might be the tremelo itself that maybe vibrating im not really sure.as i work 6days a week its hard to get into my local dealer so any advise would be muchly appreciated.

Thanks.
Let there be blood !!!! just not my blood !!!

Could be one of many different problems. You'll just need to take some time off work, or get a friend to bring it in.
