Getting an Industrial Guitar Sound
« on: August 05, 2010, 07:23:42 PM »
I'm not really sure where to start but this is what I'm thinking : scoop out the midrange and use a noise gate.

Any other ideas?

I'm running a JEM 7VWH through a Line 6 Spider Valve 112, stock DiMarzio EVO's.

Trying to get a sound somewhat like Rammstein, NIN, etc for a couple of recordings I'm doing.

Any hardware/software ideas you might have would be most welcome!

Just for recording at this stage.  Eventually it will be live but that is a fair way off yet.

Ratt pedals are sick, but I reckon they sound best as a vocal distortion unit.

I was thinking the same thing. Plus scooping the mids.
