Fellow Agalloch fans?
« on: November 13, 2010, 07:32:14 AM »
Anyone else been as impatient as me and grabbed a copy of the latest offering? (pre order still to far away after 4 years since ashes against!)

All I can say is holy fuck. Run. Dont walk. Go get it. Now.

I was really thrown for a loop when I first heard Into The Painted Grey, Agalloch didn't even do black metal like this pre-Pale Folklore! I'm still not sure I like it, but the rest of the album is just pure Agalloch goodness through and through. I think The Watcher's Monolith may just about be my favorite song of theirs, so long In The Shadow Of Our Pale Companions!

Agalloch kicks ass

Though... I feel the latest album was weak.

In my opinion it's hard to top the last 2 records and some of the EP's and Splits inbetween are phenomenal.

Some songs were the definition of Fillers, Ghosts of the Midwinter Fires. Just seemed a bit like recycled old riffs to fill up space.
