Wanted : Drummer / Vox for Amateur Doom / Sludge Band
« on: December 19, 2010, 01:53:39 AM »
Hi.

http://www.myspace.com/makerperth

I'm trying to rustle together a doom / sludge band for a bit of fun. I'm a 31 year old guy and have been playing guitar off and on for 2 years. Skills are still a bit rudimentary but I like to think that when I keep it simple the results are OK. I'd like to find some people to play / jam with for fun and just maybe, somewhere down the track, gigs. Need a drummer and vocalist. I  envision the drums being kind of groovy / slow-paced, i.e. no blast beats (not that blast beats don't float my boat - I'd be starting a black / death band if I could play along to a blast beat). Pretty open to any vox i.e. death growls, black metal shrieks, pig squeals, sheep burps or god forbid clean. I don't have any lyrics. Might have a guy for bass - not sure yet.

I know there's Buckley's of getting a drummer in Perth, but hey, gotta ask (otherwise we'll just have to be a drum machine band). I live in a block of flats so can't play here - I'm thinking rehearsal rooms.

I've uploaded some "pre-demo" tracks here : http://www.myspace.com/makerperth. These are just rough, ugly samples to give you the idea of the direction I'm thinking. Track names are disposable meaningless guff so I can tell them apart.

So if you agree to my demands and this sounds cool, get in touch. (Otherwise stuffya I'll just be a solo project)

Cheers

Lee
