Hi There
« on: April 14, 2014, 09:10:46 PM »
Hi There,

I've recently moved over to WA from SA. I know a few people over here, but not one of them listens to metal so I figured this would be a good place to start my introductions. After doing a bit of snooping I see that I may be a tad late for the board's golden age, but hey who knows what the future holds.

Anyway, been listening to metal since my teens (30 now). Partial to old school death metal, thrash and most of the early 00's gothenburg melodeath. That being said, my taste is really quite broad - I'll give anything a listen if it's good! Also play a bit of guitar in my spare time.

Looking forward to Kreator / Death Angel on Sunday  :headbang:

Cheers,

Aedan

PS - Anyone know who (if anyone) is supporting on Sunday?

GOOD ON YA MATE!!

Don't worry buddy, there's still plenty of life in this old girl (i mean WF, not me ... im a bloke!) yet ;)

From what I've read there are NO supports for KREATOR - just DEATH ANGEL. If you want supports, consider these other gigs on in the days leading up to this show:

G'day Aedan,

Good to have you aboard mate! Once I've got a few of the technical issues out of the way I'll be promoting the site again and hopefully have a bit more of a lively metal scene once more.
But yeah, in the meanwhile come on down to some of the shows, including local gigs, as listed on the gig guide and we're all a friendly bunch.
Feel free to come say hi, though I don't always look like a pirate.  8)  Here's the facebook pages as well.

Cheers fellas!

Definitely keen on getting down to a few local shows - dare say you'll start seeing me everywhere before too long! Any bands in particular that I should be looking out for?

Are there any venues (and/or record stores) over here that are dedicated to Metal? I've seen the Civic and Rosemount bandied about in gig guides on the web.

Been ages since I saw Grotesque (last time was in SA supporting Kataklysm in '08 I believe) - damn fine band from what I remember! Sadly can't make it to the gig Sat - even though it seems right up my alley. I've got fam down from interstate this week. Somehow I don't think checking out WA's finest Death metal is on their tourist to do list  ;)
