Equipment for sale / for sale: nickel-plated 308 bullet belts x2
« on: May 18, 2011, 10:49:08 AM »
The genuine article - nickel plated with high quality black chain links, with tips. Bought in Germany, nearly lost them going through Perth customs (customs officer says normally a permit is required but they were feeling nice).

Each belt is around 93cm long and has 64 bullets. Individual bullets can be removed to make it shorter, or the two belts can be joined together if you're more the viking-sized black metal dude.

$90 each or $160 for the pair. We're moving overseas at the end of next week so if you're interested please move fast! Call Dave on 0433 448 716.

General discussion / One million beers for metal
« on: April 16, 2010, 11:12:54 AM »
Sometimes funny shit happens when web developers drink. Here is one example: One Million Beers for Metal

Essentially, Leticia who runs, myself and another writer from the UK are trying to document one million beers being drunk in the name of metal. We're getting people to submit their photos and doing up a post each week with everything that's been submitted. After the second week we were up to 152 beers so we have quite a way to go but that's ok, it's all in the journey right?

So if you have a photo that involves beer and metal, submit it and be part of.. um... something funny.

General discussion / Fear Factory interview
« on: March 05, 2010, 08:22:24 PM »
I did my first face-to-face interview a few weeks back, and on video no less. Laugh at me here:

The audio for the first 10 seconds is shockingly bad but it does improve after that. There was a huge fountain in the middle of the hotel lobby so we couldn't use audio off the camera (which is usually really good if there's nothing loud and distracting right behind) so we had to rely on my mic and unfortunately I handled it like a noob. Next time, gadget.

What do people think of the new Fear Factory album?

Western Australia / Friday 29th Jan...
« on: January 24, 2010, 06:24:14 PM »
On the same night, we have:
Dyscord new album listening party at the Rocket Room
Burgerkill at the Charles Hotel
Grotesque, Nails, DFC and Episiotomy at the Railway Hotel.

Metal As Fuck has ONE perth-based reviewer (that's me) and i can't be in three places at once. From a newsworthiness point of view, Burgerkill has the biggest novelty value being both international and from somewhere that doesn't have a lot of metal; Dyscord just signed to Stomp so that's significant; but out of the three the one I'd personally most like to be at is Grotesque et al even though it's a huge freaking hike out to Freo.

Maybe I'll say fuck it and stay home drinking beers.

General discussion / anyone going to Wacken this year?
« on: July 23, 2009, 02:29:50 PM »
We're leaving on Sunday!

The lineup isn't as great as everyone was hoping (and now Anthrax have pulled out too, given that they've just fired singer number 4) but I'm still pretty pumped. Amon Amarth, In Flames, Heaven and Hell, Napalm Death... Tom Gabriel Warrior is doing a song with Sarke... Motorhead... should be epic. And of course, Mambo Kurt  :headbang:

Anyone else making the trip?
