Presented by JV PHOTO & FILM, a passionate music photographer and supporter of the Perth music scene, ELECTRIC EYE HEAVY FEST showcases the many sub-genres of heavy music, from the classic to the extreme. FEATURING:

CHAOS DIVINE | ORPHEUS OMEGA | CRYPT CRAWLER | REMISSION | WOEWARDEN | PSYCHONAUT | MAGE | GLOAM | NEOMANTRA | PRIMROSE PATH

🔥 CHAOS DIVINE
Perth’s CHAOS DIVINE have secured their own legacy over the course of 15 years with four iconic albums. Many have labelled the band’s latest release ‘Legacies’ as one of the best international heavy albums of 2020 – a testament to their own enduring legacy as one of Australia’s most formidable progressive bands. As live performers, Chaos Divine ascended from the ranks of a ‘local band’; to that of a national and then an international touring act – growing from a sought-after support into a towering headliner. They have earned coveted spots on festivals in Australia and Europe, have been met with chart positions, radio play, and a global following that is beyond loyal.

🔥 ORPHEUS OMEGA
Co-headlining Electric Eye Heavy Fest is none other than Melbourne’s ORPHEUS OMEGA, who will be making their way over to Perth for the first time since 2019. With a career spanning four acclaimed albums, three EPs and countless tour cycles both domestically and abroad, ORPHEUS OMEGA has cemented themselves as one of hardest working and entertaining mainstays of the Australian metal scene. The continued evolution of ORPHEUS OMEGA has kept the band relevant and ever growing, with 2023 bringing the release of ‘Portraits’, an introspective five track EP with each song curated by an individual member that showcases their song-writing and own personal journey. The band is joined by collaborators Andy Gillion (Andy Gillion/ex-Mors Principium Est), Bjorn ‘Speed’ Strid (Soilwork/The Night Flight Orchestra), Jukka Pelkonen and Markus Vanhala (Omnium Gatherum) and Jim Grey (Caligula’s Horse).

🔥 CRYPT CRAWLER
Formed in 2018, CRYPT CRAWLER pull old school death metal and traditional tones together with a modern approach. They write well-crafted metal with intelligent horror concepts and themes within their lyrics. It’s a brutal, yet melodic blend of elements reaching into the most primal corners of a heavy metal fan’s soul. Supporting legendary acts such as US death metal titans Skeletal Remains and Australian grindcore veterans King Parrot, 2022 was a pivotal year for the band, helping boost their presence in the Australian metal scene. With production of their third full length album underway, along with 2023 seeing the band tour Australia multiple times, CRYPT CRAWLER are a great example of a hard working band who are dedicated and strive to project themselves on a global scale.

🔥 REMISSION
Hailing from Perth, REMISSION are known for their face-ripping melodic death and thrash metal presence. Commanding the listener with the band’s punishing speed, stunning technicality, and captivating melodic hooks, further heightened by the band’s unrelenting visceral rage, REMISSION have slayed audiences across Australia and Asia, performing alongside acts such as Cattle Decapitation, Revocation and Arch Enemy. With the highly anticipated album ‘Impermanence’ set for release in July through Blood Blast Distribution, REMISSION recently released their latest single ‘Castor’ via Metal Injection which serves the listener a perfect balance of both aggression and melody.

🔥 WOEWARDEN
Off the back of their ‘In the Art of My Caged Existence’ Australian tour, and a flurry of Perth shows supporting the likes of Hornography, Metal United Down Under and Bitter Loss Record label counterparts Malignant Aura, WOEWARDEN return to mark the inception of Electric Eye Heavy Fest. Those familiar with their bleak atmospheric black metal sound and emotion drenched dirges know what to expect. Those unaware, brace yourselves.

🔥 PSYCHONAUT
PSYCHONAUT has had over twenty neck-breaking years of speed, thrash, death and power. Playing more than 300 live shows, PSYCHONAUT have graced the stage with countless international acts such as Exodus, Ace Frehley, Death Angel, Anvil and Venom Inc. Their music is rooted in 80’s heavy metal with lyrical content based on classic horror and sci-fi films, as well as heavy metal culture references. 2023 sees the band currently in the process of recording their highly anticipated third album.

🔥 MAGE
MAGE are a hard-hitting four-piece from Perth, WA who blend heavy riffs with drive-y, fuzz-laden desert rock & pop. Their sound is characterised by overdriven guitar, cutting vocals, monolithic drums, and pervasive basslines. MAGE jumped straight onto the scene with a sold-out show supporting Australian prog legends Karnivool in December 2019, and despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the band kept busy building a catalogue of new material which included three new releases in 2022. MAGE now move toward their vision of bigger releases as they see how far they can take their ever-progressing sound, with plenty more material in store for the coming year.

🔥 GLOAM
GLOAM is a distinguished four-piece shoegaze ensemble, adept at fusing ethereal soundscapes with rich sonic textures. Influenced by renowned acts such as Deftones, Deafheaven, Whirr, and Nothing, GLOAM’S genre-transcending style attracts fans from the alternative, indie, hardcore, and metal scenes. Following the release of their debut self-titled EP ‘Gloam’ in December 2022, GLOAM has graced the stage with various international and local Perth talents including the likes of Deafheaven, Boston Manor and Movements.

🔥 NEOMANTRA
NEOMANTRA explores the notions of self, psyche & reality, channelling philosophy through frequency in their crushingly heavy musical medium. The band have been working hard around the Perth circuit following the release of their debut EP ‘Henosis’ in September 2021, produced & recorded by Mark McEwen & Brody Simpson at Underground Recording Studios and co-produced by Drew Goddard (Karnivool), with new material anticipated to drop this year. ‘Henosis’ has had a great reception nationally with a premiere feature on prominent national music webzine Wall of Sound, and received welcome support, airplay and reviews from The Faction Live (Kill Your Stereo), RTRFM and a host of outlets around the country & internationally.

🔥 PRIMROSE PATH
PRIMROSE PATH are a dark progressive five-piece outfit fusing grunge, black metal, djent, melodic and death metal to create their unique brand of ‘psychedelic space-witch’ metal. Over the last two years their music has evolved immensely, as they have sought out to explore more technical sounds and deliver high energy but emotive live performances. With heavy riffing used in conjunction with blast beats, entwined with psychedelic passages, the music is supposed to be narrative and takes the listener on a journey. You won’t want to miss their performance at Electric Eye Heavy Fest.
